Dear Friends,
I am making time to send you a quick update on the recent activities of late in my professional life.
As usual, January stormed in with flurry of activity. Like many of you, we stop and evaluate the year past and make plans for the future. As a progenerater of independent art, I found myself fully engaged and consumed with the request for assistance from other artist around me.
This injection of increased activity; topped with changes in my personal life have forced me to work double time in order to keep everything going. It’s been a challenge, but it’s fine.
My independent record label “Starving Dog Records” turns seven this August and since its launch in 2003, I have added seven artists to the roster. These talented people come from different parts of the globe and I would love to introduce you to them over time.
I’m also revamping and launching a new website for the company soon which incorporates many of the social networking features that you may be aware of or currently use. Some examples are music videos through You Tube, MySpace, Facebook and Twitter updates.
This upgrade has forced me to keep current with my use and knowledge of technology and I’m happy to explain any of it to you in case you need further information.
The first project of 2010 will be Colin Clyne – Doricana.

COLIN CLYNE – DORICANA
Los Angeles, CA – The wait is now over. Starving Dog Records is pleased to announce the release of DORICANA, the highly anticipated new body of work from Colin Clyne. DORICANA – which will be released WORLDWIDE on May 11, 2010 - is COLIN Clyne’s first full-length studio album since the debut release of Songs From the Cold Store in 2006. Recognized for soulful passionate songs, Colin Clyne has enjoyed success both internationally and stateside throughout the span of his five year career. Since the release of his debut album, Songs From the Cold Store in 2006, he has continually performed on both sides of the Atlantic. DORICANA was recorded primarily in southern California over the course of two years.
Born in Scotland and based in Southern California, Colin Clyne is a stylistically diverse, poetically inclined English-language singer/songwriter reminiscent of James Taylor and Crosby, Stills & Nash. Born in Inverness, Scotland, in 1976, he began venturing out of the UK at age 17 to London and Africa with plans to study. Influenced by the towering legacies of Bob Dylan and Neil Young as well as contemporary alt-rock UK and American artists such as Oasis and The Black Keys, he also pursued a career in music upon arriving in the U.S. In time he met American music producer and record label owner Marvin Glover who gave him the guidance, direction and support with the result culminating in the debut release of Songs From The Cold Store released on Glover’s Starving Dog Records label.
Colin’s first single “Into My Garden" will be rolled out to select U.S. and Canada radio stations and available on iTunes for purchase in the coming weeks. It will be on UK iTunes shortly as well. For those of you outside the U.S., Canada and UK keep checking back.
